1. PKDG NAMED FLORIDA “BUILDER OF THE YEAR”

   Phil Kean Design Group was honored to receive the “Builder of the Year” Award from The Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects in late July of this year.

   With the ceremony held in Palm Beach, Florida, the firm that receives this award is recognized for exemplifying a sincere and genuine interest in encouraging and affecting outstanding craftsmanship and workmanship on a specific project.

   PKDG was recognized for work on The New American Home built in Winter Park, Florida.

   The AIA Florida/Caribbean Honor & Design Awards program is Florida’s most prestigious award program for this region’s architectural profession. The program recognizes both great design and outstanding individuals who contribute to the advancement of the profession.

2. PKDG WINS “BEST OF SHOW” AT THE SOUTHEAST AURORA AWARDS GALA

   Phil Kean Design Group recently attended the 35th Annual Southeast Building Conference’s AURORA Awards Gala. PKDG had the distinction of taking home seven awards, including the coveted “Best of Show” Golden AURORA Award for their project “Sloane Modern” built in Orlando, Florida.

    

   Awards PKDG received include:

   • Golden AURORA Award, “Best of Show”
   • Grand AURORA Award, “Best of State” – Florida
   • Grand AURORA Award, Custom Home, One-of-a-Kind 6,000 sq. ft. – 8,000 sq. ft.
   • Grand AURORA Award, Custom Home, One-of-a-Kind under 4,000 sq. ft.
   • Grand AURORA Award, Interior Detailing, $1,000,000 – $2,000,000
   • AURORA Award, Interior Detailing over $2,000,000
   • AURORA Award, Interior Merchandising, $1,000,000 – $2,000,000

   The AURORA Awards honor excellence in design concept and execution encompassing all facets of the residential, commercial, and remodeling industries. From overall design to sustainability, the awards program offers categories for each participant in the construction industry.

   Established in 1979, AURORA Awards are presented annually to outstanding builders, planners, architects, developers, designers, interior merchandisers and other housing-related professionals from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and the Eastern Caribbean.

4. PKDG MAKES PROGRESS ON THE NEW AMERICAN HOME 2017

   Chosen to take on the challenge of designing and building the 2017 New American Home, Phil Kean Design Group continues to break the molds of modern architecture and produce never-before-seen home design. Located at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, the contemporary home features a truly one-of-a-kind custom floor plan, complete with two courtyards—one featuring a putting green and the other a resort-like pool—and a swanky roof terrace overlooking the lake. As of April 2016, construction on this lofty project has advanced tremendously.
